John Philip Weisenhorn was born August 11, 1933 in Quincy Illinois. John was the youngest of six children and attended local Catholic grade schools and secondary schools. His mother died when he was eight. After high school he worked at Yellowstone National Park for the summer and returned to Illinois to continue his education. John is now retired after a long and successful career in sales mostly based in the southeast. He was married to the late Rosemarie Juppe Weisenhorn for over sixty years and together they raised eleven children. John credits his and Rosemarie’s German organizational skills in helping manage their busy household. He is the proud grandfather of twenty-two. A devout Catholic, John has served as a deacon in the Catholic Church for many years and has devoted much of his time to his church and community through board membership and other volunteer endeavors.
