Dr. Bobbie Haynes Rowland

 

Dr. Bobbie Haynes Rowland was born May 29, 1929, is a retired educator, having spent her entire professional career teaching from pre-K to college.  She earned her undergraduate degree, Masters and PhD at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and is recognized statewide as an advocate for childhood education. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her work with children and the education of others regarding the importance of early childhood education.  She lives by the credo “when one door closes, another one opens” and her remarkable life is a tribute to hard work, perseverance and confidence.

Bobbie was married to the late Walter Carnes who died while serving in the United States Air Force and to the late Ralph Rowland. She and has two daughters, Linda and Laura and is the proud grandparent of two and great grandparent of four.
