Lewington S. Ponder was born July, 5th 1921 in Syracuse New York. He is the son of Elbert and Alice Ponder and is a decorated veteran of WW II. Lew was a member of the 71st Infantry Division achieving the rank of Captain. He also served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War and many other posts before retiring in 1974. He married the love of his life, Esther A. Wagner on November 12th, 1947 and together they raised two daughters, Carol P. Bryant and Judith P. Crane. Lew is the proud grandfather or two and great grandfather of two. His life has been in service to his family, his faith, community and country. Listen to the story of his life.
