Ernest Robert Warren

Ernest Robert Warren was born in Gastonia, NC on December 2, 1885.  He attended the University of North Carolina and UNC law school and returned to practice law in Gaston County for over fifty years. He was married to Alice Phillips Warren and after her untimely death in 1943, he raised their three daughters, Carolyn Warren Sumner, Nell Warren Aldridge, and Lou Warren Fuller.  He was recognized throughout the State as a leading trial lawyer and participated in the defense and prosecution of many high profile criminal cases including the murders surrounding the 1929 Loray Mill Strike. Mr. Warren died on June 4, 1969, at the age of 73, still actively practicing law. This film is produced to remember the legacy of Mr. Warren, particularly through the eyes of those who were able to practice law with him during the last decade of his life.
