Larry Kenneth Petty, born July 17th, 1932
Larry is married to Linda and is the father of two, Julie and Jeff.
Larry grew up in the textile town of Gastonia, N.C. during the Great Depression. He learned the value of hard work through the examples set by his mother and father. His father was a self taught entrepreneur and craftsman and in 1937, in the basement of their modest home, he opened Petty Machine Company to sharpen lawn mower blades and perform other basic metal repair and welding jobs. Today, with Larry as President, the company designs, engineers and builds bespoke complex industrial machinery. Larry keeps a busy schedule working five days a week. His distinguished legacy includes his family, (father and grandfather) and he and wife Linda’s generous contributions of time and money to numerous non-profit institutions across the State.
