Charles Jackson Katzenstein, Jr.

Charles Jackson Katzenstein, Jr.,  was born December 22, 1934 in New York City.  He grew up in the City where he attended grade school and high school, but he spent his summers in North Carolina with his Aunt Selma on her farm falling in love with the country life.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina, following in his father’s footsteps.  Also like his father, he served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve achieving the rank of Lt. Commander.  Upon completion of his active duty service, he attended and graduated from UNC law school. He has been in private practice for over 60 years. He is still actively engaged in the practice of law in the firm of Katzenstein and Lorance. He is married to Sondra (66 years and counting) and they are the proud parents of three, Steven, Joey and Judith along with numerous grandchildren.  Storyteller extraordinaire, and always with a twinkle in his eye, Charles enjoys family, friends, work and is an expert numismatist.  This is his story.
