Mildred Sadler was born August 29, 1924 on a ten acre farm in York County SC. She graduated from Shaw University and later received a Masters from UNC. She is retired from a distinguished career as an educator, most recently as an assistant superintendant for Gaston County, NC schools. She was married to the late Edward Dewitt Sadler for 47 years and they raised five children, Brenda, Edward, Kenneth, John and James. She is a grandmother of 14, a great grandmother of 10 and great great grandmother of 2.
Ms. Sadler died March 15, 2017 at the age of 92.
